Where? Rutland Sailing Club
Built around 1980 (according to the Kinsman Association list) this craft is in reasonable
condition for its age. Having been used by Rutland Sailability since 2008, the sale of K41is
due to a planned replacement. The craft is a pleasure to sail using either a wheel or tiller for
steering. A useful boat for pleasure sailing or training.
The Kinsman can be sailed easily with as few as 2 people, or a maximum of 6. With over
300Kg of ballast, the Kinsman is a safe boat at any experience level. A lifting keel and
rudder means that the Kinsman can be launched from and recovered to its trailer in about
60cm of water.
The sale includes 2 normal fenders and one for the bow. Painters front and rear are fitted.
The trailer, which is in fair condition, has a winch to assist boat recovery. A cover is also
included.
K41 can be viewed any Thursday at Rutland Sailing Club or other times by arrangement.

The Kinsman is 6.0m in length and has a 1.9m beam. It weighs around 700Kg. Maximum
draught is 1.0m. The sale includes a mainsail, a genoa and a spinnaker. Without the
spinnaker, sail area is around 40m2. The mainsail has one set of reefing lines, while the
genoa has roller reefing.
