Well maintained Swift 18 swing keel trailer sailer. Ideal boat for single handed sailing or with crew. I have sailed Bebop on the Solent, East coast and currently Rutland Water for the last two seasons. She has 4 berths (Double V berth forward and 2 singles), with 2 burner Origo stove on starboard side and integral sink with hand pumped cold water on port side, along with storage for cups and plates etc.
General Specification: Hull length 18ft, water line length 16ft 4in, beam max 7ft 11in, draft 9in/3ft 6in, displacement 1125 lbs, ballast 375lbs, Sail area 199 Sq ft. Bebop comes with a Spinnaker with all lines and pole plus I have added a snuffer to make raising and lowering the spinnaker easy.
Self- bailing cockpit, 2 cockpit lockers, swim ladder, two winches mounted on the coach roof, 2 aluminium winch handles, self-bailing anchor locker, anchor with chain and warp and 4 fenders. Single roller stainless steel bow fitting, four mooring cleats, stainless steel pulpit and pushpits, stanchions and guardrails (new ones fitted this year), horseshoe lifebuoy bracket (with life buoy). New ash tiller just finished. Keel mechanism was replaced in October 2019.
Rigging: Standard mast aluminium installed on pivoting tabernacle deck mounting to allow mast to be raised and lowered with A frame which are included in the sale price, boom in anodised aluminium, standing rigging in stainless steel (forestay, side shrouds & backstay). New Plastimo 406-S furling system with drum fitted in 2016. Complete running rigging includes main halyard, foresail halyard, one boom topping lift, one spinnaker halyard, one main sheet and Genoa sheets, two reefing lines.
Sails: One furling Genoa with UV protective strip, one battened mainsail, purchased new from Jackells in July 2019 and laundered in January this year (2023), Lazy Jack (Main Mate as Jeckells call it) with zip up main sail cover in beige. Spray hood and dodgers.
Instruments/Radios: NASA Target 2 Range Speed, Depth and Wireless Wind Indicator fitted on Starboard side with compass on port side. Standard Horizon fixed DSC VHF radio with mast head antenna with Windex wind indicator. The radio is also linked to a Standard Horizon CP180i chart plotter giving position to VHF. UK and Ireland chart installed. Below there is a Echo 48 fish finder and radio/CD player. Bebop also has a Autohelm 1000 to allow hand off steering when doing other tasks.
Electricity: 12v circuit including leisure battery, 12v electrical panel, lighting throughout the cabin with halogen ceiling lights , navigation lights with steaming light and all round white light at mast head. Connection for main electricity and outlet in cabin. 10W solar panel that fits to the pushpit.
Also included Plastimo 2.3 inflatable dinghy with solid transom.
Trailer: New hitch fitted in April 2022 along with new brake shoes and Floatem guide poles. Light board board available if required.
SUMMARY: This Swift is a wonderful boat ready for sailing on the sea or inland waters. The Swift 18 has been covered many times in Practical Boat Owner referring to her sea going qualities and good handling. I am sure the first person to see her will buy her.
