Time to celebrate Rutland Sailing Club members!

Youth and Junior Team Racing.

Rutland are now ranked number 1 in the World Rankings for team racing. The youths have won all of the National under 19 events in the last 2 years,

Including

  • -RYA Youth Nationals,
  • -British Schools Nationals
  • -National Schools double handed nationals

In many events Rutland have had a second team also making the semi finals. Junior teams have also attended many events finishing 2nd in the British Schools Nationals.

1st U16 team in the Nationals Schools single handed Nationals (3rd overall).

Our women's team have now won the RYA Nationals for 2 years in succession. The squad method of training has proven highly successful.

ILCA

Terry and Carys for first GBR Boy & Girl ILCA Radial Worlds both from Rutland.

Carys, Issy, Terry and Ben were 2nd and 3rd placed youths in both girls and boys categories at RYA Youth Nationals.

Toby and Amelie placed 2nd and 3rd overall at recent ILCA 4 qualifier

Match Racing

Rutland won the Youth and Under 19 Match Racing Championships, they have been invited to the National Match Racing Finals.

Well done to the sailors but also a massive thank you to all the coaches that give up their time to help develop our young sailors at the club.

Volunteer Success

Richard Johnson was presented the Francis Elkin Award for all his volunteer work with the Challenger Association.
