Abandoned boats, trailers and scrap metal

A big "thank you" to the volunteers in our two working parties who helped to collect what appear to be abandoned boats, abandoned trailers, and scrap metal. Much strimming was also done. There will be further requests for volunteers to help with boat park audits and general tidying up in weeks and months to come.

Make a sharp turn to port as you come in through our barrier and you will see 40 numbered items. Some have no identification marks at all, other carry expired membership foils with no evidence of 2022 payments. The process we are required to follow by our own rules is:

  1. Send notice by recorded delivery to the registered owner, where known, that they must remove it from the Club.
  2. If the outstanding fees are not paid within 2 months then the boat or all other ancillary equipment will be considered abandoned and all such boats and equipment will be put up for sale by auction.
[Where no registered owner can be identified, the boats and equipment will be put up for sale by auction after 2 months.]
There can be no auction until October at the earliest. Lot numbers with further details and information about how to bid will be circulated in advance of the auction.

If you know the owner of the any of the collected items then please inform the Club office.

For further detail about the process please refer to Rule 13.8 in our Articles, Rules and Bylaws.
