Ladies who Launch ...Carry on Sailing

LWL ...Carry on Sailing... (19 November and beyond)
Yes, RSC ladies are still putting on those awkward (dry or wet) suits, and pulling out their boats to venture onto Rutland Water every Friday. With volunteers to plot a course and offer safety cover in a rib we are determined to Carry On Sailing.
Yes, it may be farcical at times if
1) the launch goes banana shaped and we get swept back to shore, or
2) the gusts blow us over and our swimming is more thrashing about, or
3) the recovery goes boomerang shaped and we cannot make the slip.... (a personal downfall)
... but the benefits are worth all of that.
Great scenery and birdlife (with rich aromas of guano), water still warm and plenty of fresh air and exercise as we practice our hiking out to impress the fishermen.
Today thanks are due to Michael, our rib driver, and Louise, our coach, for 90 minutes of good sailing and friendly fun.
And, yes, we are still bringing and sharing our lunch...always the tastiest one of the week!
