Rutland sailors victorious at Firefly Nationals

10 boats, 20 sailors, numerous parents, and several broken trailers made their way down to Restronguet SC for the Firefly Nationals held by Restronguet SC, Falmouth last week.

Rutland sailors had a great week with both old and young on the podium.

Steve Tylecote showed that age and experience can triumph over physical fitness as he and Tasha Armstrong came from behind (39th in first race) to win overall.

Rutland sailors also took the following victories:


First club -top 4 boats from each club
First Under 21 helm Terry and Annabelle Hacker(6th overall) , narrowly beating Jamie Tylecote and Alice Lucy(7th overall)
First Under 18 helm Toby Smith and Harriet, Winners of 3 of the 8 races
Silver Firefly -Steve and Tash
The Gore - Terry and Annabelle
The Avon Bailer Trophy Ben Tylecote and Lucy Cox

First from 5th youngest boats Luke Rowlands and Jude Beatty.
Second in the Marlowe and International Paints Trophy Harry Rowlands and Harry Burge.
Dylan and Oli McKee along with sisters Annabel and Georgiana Caldecott also had some great results.
