Help on the Committee Boat
Published 10:25 on 16 Jun 2024
Do you want to do your two days club duties in relative comfort?
Come out with us on the water and enjoy a day on the Committee boat!
Anyone can be an Assistant Race Officer!!!
What would you have to do?
It is easy!
The basic job is to support the Principal Race Officer by noting down the sail numbers and times of the boats racing as they pass through the finish line on each lap they do. How hard could it be?
Why would you want to do it?
It really is a great way to fulfil your two days of club duty without too much discomfort or physical effort. You can use the shelter of the committee boat's cabin. You will meet and get to know people in the club you may never have met before and maybe make new friendships along the way.
You can bring your own food on board, you can bring your own bag with as many clothes layers/alternatives as you wish. In addition to all that, you get a credit for the day with the club's caterers of £5.50.
Club members that race really do appreciate those who give up their time to enable them to go racing. Racing won't happen if we do not have volunteers on the committee boats.
Why not try it?
You can volunteer on the club website HERE once logged in you can click VOLUNTEER on any of the Assistant Race Officer positions that are not filled. It is as easy as that.
