LWL Training Day At Last

We had the LWL Training Day on Friday where 20 brave souls went out in perfect "testing" conditions to help blow away the cobwebs for the summer season ahead. We had to cancel the original date because of lack of wind but we certainly made up for that this time, winds up to 27kts, swirling around all over the place meant plenty of challenges, and yes, plenty of swims. It was good that so many could attend, we had 24 for the original date but some couldn't make the new date, maybe they are thankful for that now!

The all-day session was led by Brett Cokayne, an RYA regional coach, ably supported by our own Paul (who is used to the challenges LWL offer). We had lots of tips and ideas to try out, both on the day and the rest of the season. At times though it did just feel like "survival" was all that mattered.

It was great fun and definitely met the aim of the day "How to Sail Better", we all learnt a lot and now need to put it in to practice.

We had a great "Bring & Share" lunch which gave the opportunity for many of us to compare capsizes and to despair at those bragging they hadn't gone in (well done to them).

This is what Ladies Who Launch is all about an atmosphere where we can learn, have fun and great camaraderie. We were all a bit exhausted by the end of the day but hopefully all revved up to come back next week to try out all the new tips again.

Lots of pictures attached and there will be a video out in the next few days

Come and join us for our next (free) Ladies Who Launch session every Friday morning
