Rutland sailors have continued the winning streak of the club's team racing program winning the RYA Women's Team Racing Championships for the second year running.
The team was made up of last year's Event Director Fiona Tylecote, and the PRO from 2021 Sarah Kemp along with Georgie Knatchbull, Annabel Turnbull, and Ella Ashworth. Only Carys Attwell sailed both years her 2021 teammates competing for their university or attending RYA Laser Squad training. A combination of LWL and HYDRA.
This means Rutland stay Women's, Youth and School National Champions with 18 of our members having National titles to their names in the last 12 months.
The main Rutland team finished 4th overall in the RYA National Championship and hope to do better in the event coming up this year.
Over 30 members have represented Rutland at team racing events this year
The team racing training continues throughout the year. We are hoping to run an Introduction/Refresher Course for Team Racing in April to enable more club members to get involved.
